    WHAT IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

Laser hair removal is a permanent hair reduction method. It uses concentrated beams of light to target and destroy hair follicles.

HOW DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL WORK?

The laser emits light that is absorbed by the melanin (black pigment) present in hair follicles. The light is transformed into very high heat, which then destroys the hair follicles.

    IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL PERMANENT?

Although laser hair removal offers permanent hair reduction, some fine or light hair may remain after treatment. Subsequent sessions may be necessary to destroy the new hairs. Laser hair removal is said to be 85% to 98% effective.

FOR WHICH AREAS OF THE BODY IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL EFFECTIVE?

Laser hair removal is effective for almost all areas of the body, including the face, back, legs, arms, underarms and bikini line.

WHAT DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL HURT?

The sensation varies from person to person, but most people describe it as a mild stinging or warm sensation. The pain is generally tolerable and short-lived.

IS IT NECESSARY TO APPLY ANAESTHETIC CREAM BEFORE THE SESSION?

No. Firstly, because laser hair removal is very delicate for the areas most often in demand. Secondly, laser hair removal produces a slight fume. The mixture of carbon and fat in the cream is not very good. Finally, it's important to distinguish between the sensation of hair removal and the burn, which is essential information for the operator.

    HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED?

The number of sessions depends on a number of factors, including skin color, hair color and thickness, the area treated, and individual factors. On average, 6 to 8 sessions are required to achieve optimal results.

HOW LONG BETWEEN LASER HAIR REMOVAL SESSIONS?

We apply a protocol based on hair physiology. For the first 4 sessions, 6 to 8 weeks. After that, it will depend on your regrowth and the hair cycle of the areas. Contact us for more details.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS TO LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

Common side effects include temporary redness, a feeling of warmth and slight swelling of the skin, even an itchy rash. These effects usually disappear within a few hours to a few days.

WHAT PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN BEFORE AND AFTER A LASER HAIR REMOVAL SESSION?

Before the session, avoid sun exposure and tanning 1 month beforehand for the alexandrite laser and 1 week beforehand for the Nd:YAG laser. After the session, protect treated skin from the sun, avoid harsh chemicals and scrubs, and follow the post-treatment care instructions given during your consultation with the doctor.
